Mimi’s oil painting 'Mother and Child' has been honored with selection for the 31st Biennial at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts—an exhibition thoughtfully curated by Rusty Freeman, Director of Visual Arts, to celebrate the rich diversity of southern Illinois. Among hundreds of entries, her work is one of only seven chosen to grace the cover of the exhibition’s catalogue. It is a true honor to be part of this meaningful showcase.

Artist statement: Painting a model in a live session is a perpetual blend of challenge and enjoyment. During this session, the model, who also happens to be a dancer, struck a pose of such sophistication and beauty that it left a lasting impression on me. In an instant, I envisioned him as a regal figure, exuding an aura of radiant glory and unwavering confidence.
